Progression

Qualifications gained at RAPV will provide students with the opportunity to progress to further study at Level 3 or potentially begin an apprenticeship in the construction and related industries. Further Education colleges offer a great range of construction-based qualifications at Level 3 and above which can be accessed through gaining the BTEC First Certificate Level 2 Construction and the Built Environment course, alongside qualifications in core subjects.

Careers education, information, advice and guidance is embedded in the curriculum throughout key stage 4. Weekly timetabled sessions will focus on preparing students to plan and carry out the next stage of their career, post-16.

Over the course of the programme, students benefit from a range of opportunities including industry-based visiting speakers and field-trips to commercial settings. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and broaden their knowledge of opportunities for employment.

Our careers team ensure that students have a full understanding of the next options available to them and provide comprehensive, ongoing support including identifying suitable progression pathways, making applications and attending college open-days to ensure that every student plans their next steps well in advance.
