English – Ghost boys book review
Science – Black scientists and inventors
Art -paper weaving inspired by Kente textiles and portraiture inspired by Kahinde Wiley
PSHE – Overcoming Obstacles – mentoring from the Black Training and Enterprise Group podcast
Food Technology – Recipes from Africa and the Caribbean
Geography – Globalisation, migration and population – Ghana and Brazil
Computing – Black computer scientists
History – African Empires
We then held a whole school Black History Celebration -with an exhibition of pupils work, a feast of pupil and staff cooked dishes and a Black history quiz.
Our RAP chefs cooked an amazing range of dishes – jerk chicken, rice and peas, salt fish fritters, macaroni cheese, coleslaw, carrot cake, banana bread, lemon and lime cake cake and banana fritters. Staff made delicious contributions cooking jollof rice, prawn bouillion, stewed chicken, vegetable curry and akara.
It was a wonderful afternoon.
