Paintballing Reward Trip

Posted: February 5, 2020

Two of our Key Stage 3 pupils earned a massive 75 commendation points over the last term ! Well done boys !  This entitled them to plan a reward trip for themselves and others. There was no deliberation in both deciding on a joint paint balling activity.

We set off in glorious sunshine for the Essex countryside. We travelled by tube and were collected by minibus, soon arriving at the fantastic Mayhem Paint balling. After our health and safety talk we were all kitted out in protective head gear, vests and camouflage boiler suits. We all fitted our tubes of paint ball pellets into our vests and set off to load our guns in the netted safety bays. A few minutes instruction and target practice and we were ready for our first game !

Walking past jeeps, buses, lorry containers , bales and wooden house structures, the boys were delighted to recognise ‘maps’ from PS4 games -this was going to help with strategy. We were placed into teams and played a series of strategic games e.g first team to retrieve the jerry can from the back of a jeep. We hid out in the helicopter, laid down on muddy banks, edged around various vehicles as we tried to cover our team mates and dodge bullets from our opponents !

We all played 7 games across an action packed 3 hours  – only pausing to re load our guns, talk strategy and grab a quick drink.

The day was absolutely fantastic – both staff and pupils loved the games, team work and ‘map’ variety of the challenges so much  –  we can’t wait to go again !

Excellent behaviour, fantastic team work and brilliant communication boys !
