Food Technology at RAP

Our RAP chefs are all very happy to be back in the kitchen !

Each of our form groups enjoy a double practical session in the kitchen each week. We focus on cooking nutritious, tasty and affordable dishes from scratch. We choose recipes from all over the globe, exploring different ingredients, seasoning and cooking methods. At the end of each lesson pupils sit together to enjoy eating and evaluating their dishes, later taking a portion of their food home to share with others.

Our enthusiastic chefs have developed confidence and great skills of preparation and cooking this half term.We have been so impressed at the fantastic food they have created !

So far this half term our RAP chefs have made:

Key Stage 3
Scone based pizza and fresh tomato sauce
Chocolate brownies
Peri Peri chicken wraps
Macaroni cheese
Jerk chicken and fresh coleslaw

Key Stage 4 – Year 10
Scone based pizza
Hunters’ chicken, roast potatoes and carrots
Jerk chicken with rice and peas
Lasagne
Beef burgers and garden salad

Key Stage 4 – YEAR 11 BTEC level 2
