On 23rd August a group of very anxious looking young people turned up at the doors of RAP to collect their examination results. For the majority, those worried looks turned to smiles when they opened their envelopes.
This year RAP’s students achieved the best set of examination results since we set up in Barkingside in 2005. All of our year 11 students attended RAP for less than a year before taking their GCSEs, some having only recently arrived in the UK with very limited English! Many students managed to raise their grades by at least one level in the short time they attended with us and in some cases students achieved results two or three grades higher than their schools had been predicting for them. This was despite the more rigorous examinations which have recently been introduced.
This upshot of this success is that everybody has achieved the levels they needed to go on to further courses of study either at college or at sixth form centres.
Our results even earned us a report in our local newspaper, The Ilford Recorder!
Congratulations to each and every one of our year eleven students – your success is greatly deserved!
