Exam closures May – June 2022(pdf)

19th April 2022

Dear Parent/Carers

I hope you have had a relaxing Easter Break. We are now entering a new phase of COVID and we will be managing it the same way we manage any other respiratory infection, e.g a cold. We will not be testing staff or students anymore. Students and staff do not need to wear masks any longer. When we return in the Summer term we will soon be entering the Exam season. This will mean there will be a small number of unavoidable school closures for some students during May and June. This is because all students taking exams will do so in individual rooms supervised by a member of staff linked to their individual need. We want to give you as much notice as we can so that you are able to make alternative arrangements for your child during these times if they are not involved in exams.

All students return to school on Wednesday 20th April 2022

School will be closed to students not taking exams as follows:

  • Wednesday 18th May – Closed to all students not taking exams in the morning – All students should attend school at 12.05 pm even if they are not taking exams
  • Friday 20th May – Closed to all students not taking exams
  • Tuesday 7th June – Closed to all students not taking exams in the morning – All students should attend school at 12.05 pm even if they are not taking exams
  • Friday 10th June – Closed to all students not taking exams
  • Monday 13th June – Closed to all students not taking exams in the morning – All students should attend school at 12.05 pm even if they are not taking exams

All students taking exams will be given their own individual exam timetable. Should you have any questions in regard to the exams period please do not hesitate to call the school office.

Kind regards

Kerrie Marshall
