Art trip to The Tate Modern

Posted: October 12, 2018

This term on 12th October the KS4 students visited the Tate Modern. We walked across the millennium bridge christened the wobbly bridge and spent time walking round the free exhibitions at the looking for artists whose work the students could use to inform their GCSE projects.

The students looked around the gallery independently completing drawing studies of different works of art. One of interest to the majority of students was the Manga inspired ‘No Ghost Just a Shell’;

The students took in the views from the platform on the tenth floor of the Blavatnik building and also enjoyed the sensory experiences of the exhibition in the Turbine Hall. All in all a great day out!

Some quotes from the students;

‘It was a new experience.’

‘I enjoyed the art because it was a mix of different cultures I enjoyed seeing the political artwork.’

‘It was interesting seeing stuff that I have never seen before.’
